An Early Ottoman Tile Masterpiece. Built in the 15th century by Sultan Murad II, considered the second founder of the Ottoman Empire, the Green Mosque and its complex are one of Bursa's most valuable historical legacies. The mosque's interior is adorned with world-famous Iznik tiles, with the mihrab and Hünkar Mahfili sections, in particular, considered unique works of art. This virtual tour offers you the opportunity to closely examine every detail of the structure, its courtyard, and its elegant decorations through 8 different scenes. Experience the splendor and history of Bursa's Green Mosque with a digital tour.
Virtual Tour Includes the following areas:
Main Prayer Hall Area: The Mihrab, known as the southernmost (front) area of the mosque. It is the main section containing the magnificent tiled mihrab, elevated from the ground.
The Central Space, also known as the Fountain Area, is a domed area with a small fountain in the center, connected to iwans (seating/prayer areas) on its right and left sides.
These areas, known as the Seating and Prayer Areas (Iwans), are located on the north-south axis of the Central Space, extending to the right and left.
The sections called Tabhanes (Side Rooms) are located to the east and west of the Central Space. They are also known as rooms where dervishes stayed or visitors rested.
The Shahnishin (Cumba) are projection/seating corners attached to the rooms, decorated with tilework.
