İ.Şevki Atasagun was born in Istanbul in 1899. In 1921 graduated from the military medical school. Participated in the War of Liberation. After the war, residency training in internal medicine and became a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine. Promoted to professor. Military service after a period of time has passed. Consultant made several military hospitals. In 1957, when he retired major-general. Undersecretariat of the Ministry of Health found between 1958-1960. Participating in the elections in 1961 was elected senator in Nevsehir. Republican Senate President Cemal Gürsel playing sick for a long time served as the Acting President. After finishing the task of a senator in 1977, died in çekildi.1984 politics. There are several books in the field of medicine
